Chicago, Buffalo, Carolina, and Indianapolis, I’m looking at you. From deep threats to slot magicians, let’s dive deep into the top ten wide receiver prospects for the 2024 NFL Draft.
2024 NFL Draft top prospects: Rome Odunze – Washington
Rome Odunze, a wide receiver from the University of Washington, is another prospect to watch. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 201 pounds, Odunze is a perfect blend of size and athleticism. His ability to win contested catches and make plays after the catch makes him a potential top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
In the 2023 season, Odunze recorded 27 receptions for 544 receiving yards and six total touchdowns. He has a knack for making big plays, as evidenced by his 605 yards against single-coverage, second only to Harrison Jr. among returning Power Five receivers. His contribution to his team’s offense was significant, making him one of the most valuable Power Five receivers according to PFF’s wins above average metric.
In Michael Penix Jr-led shootout against Cal, Odunze was Penix’s second favorite target of the day, hauling five receptions for 125 yards and two TDs. It was another impressive outing for the young WR, and he will look to bolster high draft status this week against an Arizona State defense that loves to let WRs run uninhibited. Penix Jr. And Odunze should feast. Bold prediction, nine catches, 136 yards, and 2 TDs.
