NFL Week 3 — Matchup No. 2: Tennessee Titans vs. Cleveland Browns

Keeping the status quo begets more status quo: After a deserved loss in Week 1, the Titans were on a mission to regain their footing in Week two, and they achieved that in a late-game victory over the Chargers. Their game against the Browns in NFL Week 3 presents an opportunity to demonstrate their resilience and potential. With both teams at 1-1, this game will shape the AFC South and North.

The Titans’ game plan will likely revolve around their quarterback, Ryan Tannehill’s play. If he can replicate his Week 2 performance, the Titans have a strong chance of overpowering the Browns. Myles Garrett and the Browns will give him nightmares if he is the Week 1 version of  Tannehill with three interceptions. The Titans will also need to address their defensive issues, a persistent problem this season.

The Browns were confident coming off a victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. Still, a brutal injury to running back Nick Chubb was the catalyst to a Pittsburgh Steelers defeat on Monday night. If it comes together, bringing back Kareem Hunt to replace Chubb and Deshaun Watson’s dual-threat capabilities could pose a significant challenge for the Titans. The Browns will aim to exploit the Titans’ defensive weaknesses, putting the pressure on Tennessee’s offense to keep up.

Prediction: Given the Browns current form and the Titans’ defensive woes, Cleveland seems to have the upper hand. However, they could pull off an upset if the Titans can harness their offensive potential and fix their defensive issues.

Bold prediction. The Browns win and cover the spread, and the 1-2 Titans are looking at Will Levis and Malik Wills from now on.
