No. 4: Leonard Fournette — New England Patriots

The Patriots have followed this blueprint several times before, and rumors say Leonard Fournette could be the next in line. New England thrives at “picking up the scraps” — so to speak. Now that most of the smoke has settled in free agency, Bill Belichick can go through the leftovers and pick out the pieces they need for 2023.

Fournette is a well-respected veteran who established himself as a needle-mover in the backfield during Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl run in 2020. The Patriots are nowhere near championship status, but a chunk of snaps are available if the former LSU Tiger wants them.

Rhamondre Stevenson will handle the bulk of the workload between the 20s, but Fournette could become the goal-line specialist in New England — much to the chagrin of fantasy football managers everywhere. Belichick could not care less about your imaginary teams, so if Fournette winds up in the upper northeast, prepare yourself for several “vultured” touchdowns.
