New York Jets: 4 things we want to see on HBO‘s Hard Knocks
By Hunter Haas
No. 4: A Focus On Health
The final point is potentially the most important of the bunch. For a team to win a Super Bowl, they must have droves of talent — this is not a debate. However, an equally important part of the discussion is the health of that talent. Look no further than the offensive line.
A group tasked with protecting the prized investment of Rodgers has a laundry list of medical red flags. None bigger than former first-rounder Mekhi Becton. Literally. The 6-foot-7, 363-pound offensive tackle has dealt with conditioning and injury issues since entering the league.
Reports say Becton is slimmed down and healthier than ever, but a spot in the starting lineup is not guaranteed. Another tackle on the roster, Duane Brown, had a solid 2022 campaign but is entering his age-38 season. These are a couple ginormous risks for the bookends of the line.
Another name to watch as Hard Knocks progresses is the aforementioned Breece Hall. After bursting onto the scene early as a rookie, Hall suffered a disastrous season-ending knee injury. He is still rehabbing the ailment, so the Jets fandom will want to see some positive signs in his recovery.
As much as the franchise did not want to be on the HBO staple, fans are in for a treat. There is an endless amount of material and personalities, which should result in massively entertaining episodes. The start of Hard Knocks always means one thing… football is BACK!
