AFC West Offensive Rookie of the Year Contender

Rashee Rice, WR, Kansas City Chiefs, Round 2, Pick 24

Has any team been more effective at drafting and maximizing wide receivers’ unique talents than Andy Reid’s Chiefs? Reid’s next fun, new toy could be the 6-foot-1 Rashee Rice from SMU. While not as highly regarded as 2023’s four receivers taken in the first round, Rice was terrifically productive during his four years in college with 233 catches, 3,111 yards, and 25 touchdowns.

The talented wideout needs to clean up his route running and show he can be physical in contested catch situations, but if he progresses in those two areas — and can simply be a pretty good receiver in the Chiefs’ offense — Rice could find himself on the receiving end of a significant number of targets from Patrick Mahomes.
