No. 1: Full Commitment To QB Justin Fields

It cannot be overstated: The Bears committing to Justin Fields is the first step toward building a winner in the Windy City. Any team must properly build around its quarterback, but a skillset like Fields’ is few and far between, so it requires a special set of circumstances to find success.

When Chicago traded back from No. 1 overall, the franchise committed to Fields for the foreseeable future. He is typically the best athlete on any field he steps foot on, and he has the arm talent to be an equalizer in a league full of premier talent at the position.

The addition of D.J. Moore to a pass-catching group that features Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, and Cole Kmet is a recipe for an uptick in production from Fields. We’ve watched a few quarterbacks take a massive leap in development in Year 3 recently; Fields can do the same in 2023.
