No. 6: Quinn Ewers (Texas)

Okay, Longhorn fans, before you grab your pitchforks and type mean words in the comments, allow me to explain myself. Quinn Ewers ranking sixth on this list is not an indictment of his talent. The former No. 1 overall recruit is dripping with it.

He completed 16 big-time throws in 2022, highlighting how lethal the signal-caller is downfield. Furthermore, Ewers is deadly from the pocket. When the Texas line gave him time to throw, good things happened more times than not. On top of that, the 20-year-old uses his baseball background to create unprecedented arm angles to keep defenders guessing.

Unfortunately for Ewers, his first year as a full-time starter was interrupted by an untimely injury early in the year. This speaks to a larger issue, as the gifted quarterback dealt with injuries in high school as well. His decision-making is better than most think but is still an area for improvement as he gets more experience behind center.

Considering his pedigree, including his lucrative NIL deals, Ewers has the most potential to challenge Caleb Williams and Drake Maye atop the quarterback rankings. He is too unproven at the moment, but if we look up next April and Ewers is a top 10 pick… I will not be surprised.
