No. 3: 2024 NFL Draft Class Offers Immediate Help

As I mentioned earlier, Denver entered the 2023 NFL Draft firmly behind the eight ball. However, even after sending away its first two picks of the event, the franchise found a way to add immediate contributors anyway.

The Broncos were aggressive, using their slew of mid-round picks to move up to the end of Round 2. With the newly-acquired selection, Payton’s crew added another promising playmaker to the offense. Marvin Mims is a home run hitter in every sense, as is evident by his nearly 20 yards per reception at Oklahoma.

Later on Day 2, the defense brought in two instant starters with linebacker Drew Sanders and cornerback Riley Moss. Both players offer elite athleticism and a youthful infusion to the middle and back-end of the unit. Sanders in particular could be a Defensive Rookie of the Year sleeper if Denver allows him to rush the passer in addition to his responsibilities in coverage. If the Broncos return to the playoffs, the most recent draft class will be a major reason why.
