Fantasy football is becoming just as popular as its real-life counterpart these days. Fans assemble teams of their choosing, oftentimes competing for cash prizes in addition to bragging rights.

As the game continues its widespread grasp on the football community, fantasy owners are eager to find the next breakout star that single-handedly propels rosters to the championship.

Fantasy Football: 6 Rookies Capable Of Winning Leagues In 2023

In this early fantasy football preview, we highlight six rookies capable of winning leagues in 2023. First up, a dual-threat quarterback with immeasurable upside behind center.

No. 1: Anthony Richardson, QB, Colts

The No. 4 overall pick is a polarizing player in many NFL circles. One thing that no one can deny? Anthony Richardson is an athletic freak. He is built like a linebacker and runs like a wide receiver. His rocket launcher right arm can cover 100 yards through the air.

The reason for pause? Richardson only started one season in college. During the stint in Gainesville, he flashed poor accuracy and mechanics more times than not. However, the Gator signal-caller improved as the year drew on, giving a glimpse of what the finished product could look like.

The Colts hired Shane Steichen as the franchise’s next head coach. The former Eagle and Charger assistant spent time with Jalen Hurts and Justin Herbert, spearheading the offense for the youngsters behind center. Steichen looks to replicate the success with an even more talented player.

In a perfect world, Richardson breaks out and serves as an immediate dual-threat option. His running prowess provides a safe floor, even for a rookie quarterback. Around the goal line, expect Steichen to use designed runs. These touchdown opportunities, combined with Richardson’s untapped potential as a passer, could make him a league winner not only in 2QB leagues but in standard lineups as well.
