Round 2, Pick 60: Jaelyn Duncan, OT, Maryland

The Cincinnati Bengals must figure out how the offensive line stands heading into 2023. Here, they’re given an opportunity to reinforce the tackle position, and they do so by selecting Maryland’s Jaelyn Duncan. Duncan had a ton of hype coming into the season due to his athleticism, but it didn’t all materialize during the season. The cherry on top for the disappointment might’ve been the back-to-back losses versus Zach Harrison in the Ohio State matchup to end the game.

At the Senior Bowl, though, Duncan showed some more impressive hand usage, hip sink, and reestablishment of his hands in 1v1s. If he can continue to develop there, his mirror skills and quicks in the run game will be very beneficial in Cincinnati.

Round 3, Pick 92: Roschon Johnson, RB, Texas

Finally the move at running back! The Bengals are going to have so many options in the mid rounds, and Roschon Johnson is a back who can do so many things for the offense. Johnson runs with impressive power, forcing missed tackles with his bowling ball style at a high rate. He’s got a wicked stiff arm as well, not to mention his quicks and speed sustainment for breakaway runs. Johnson is as good a pass protector as you’ll find in the class as well, and he’s solid catching the ball out of the backfield. A Chris Carson/Samaje Perine mix is what you’re getting immediately, which will definitely work.
