29. New Orleans Saints: Calijah Kancey, DL, Pittsburgh

Will the New Orleans Saints be the team to roll with tight end in the first round? Potentially, but defensive line is where the needs lie, and it’s a loaded class. They added Khalen Saunders and Nate Shepherd to get some stopgaps, but they add a difference maker as a pass rusher in Calijah Kancey. Kancey’s rush toolbox is very impressive, and the production is there. He could move around their defensive line to generate pressure from multiple alignments.

30. Philadelphia Eagles: Will McDonald IV, EDGE, Iowa State

The Philadelphia Eagles are a team that builds through the trenches, and we would not dare deviate in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft. They could use defensive tackle here, but Will McDonald being available is a great way to bolster the pass rush on the outside. McDonald’s production dipped a bit in 2022, but he played a ton of 4i in three man fronts. His length is a great advantage, and his toolbox gives the Eagles another potentially productive player.

31. Kansas City Chiefs: Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia

The league probably shouldn’t allow this and add a tampering tag to it, but the Kansas City Chiefs should definitely do this and aren’t fun averse (see Edwards-Helaire, Clyde). So, with that shift the Chiefs have made to more 12 and 13 personnel, why not add the athletic freak with a whopping 17.2 yards per reception in his career. Washington can act as a third tackle in the run game and provide a big receiving threat next to Travis Kelce.
