Round 6, Pick 202: Terell Smith, CB, Minnesota

The corner group for the Jacksonville Jaguars might look deeper right now, but only two guys are under contract past 2023. It’s important to stay proactive, especially in the later rounds, and take advantage of a deep cornerback group in this 2023 NFL Draft cycle. Terell Smith hasn’t been talked about a ton to this point, but he’s had a few top-30 visits, stood out during the Shrine Bowl with his timed GPS speed and coverage versatility, and went out and ran a 4.41 at 204 pounds at the combine. He’s well worth a day three selection.

Round 6, Pick 208: Atonio Mafi, OL, UCLA

Who will be the other guard opposite Brandon Scherff when the season starts in the fall for Jacksonville? There’s hope for Ben Bartch, and Cole Van Lanen is on the roster, but that still shouldn’t instill confidence just yet. Atonio Mafi is a destructive force in the run game, taking every pancake opportunity and finishing. He’s got a powerful lower half and the balance to hold up in a phone booth in pass protection.

Round 7, Pick 226: B.J. Thompson, EDGE, Stephen F. Austin

Why not finish the Jaguars mock draft with another potential pass rusher in the rotation? Stephen F. Austin’s B.J. Thompson is lightning quick off the snap with the curvilinear explosion and bend to threaten the outside track. His work at the Shrine Bowl and athletic testing should get him drafted.
