Jacksonville Jaguars 7-Round Mock Draft: Edge, Tight End Early
The Jacksonville Jaguars have to reload a little bit for a run in 2023, but they have the picks to do so. In this Jaguars mock draft, they find studs early.
What a turnaround by the Jacksonville Jaguars to finish the season. They found a way to turn things around and win the division, and it might’ve kickstarted a reign for them in the AFC South. Trevor Lawrence and Doug Pederson are a great duo, and Calvin Ridley is set to join the party on offense in 2023. Evan Engram is also back for 2023 on the franchise tag.
Jacksonville Jaguars Mock Draft: EDGE, TE Early
They did lose Jawaan Taylor and Arden Key in free agency, so there are some holes to fill to reload for another run. In this 7-round Jaguars mock draft, we explore a scenario where the outlook is longer than short, and day three features plenty of value. Off we go!
Round 1, Pick 24: Will McDonald IV, EDGE, Iowa State
The aforementioned Key left for Tennessee, leaving some question marks with the pass rush. Josh Allen has one year left on his deal, and K’Lavon Chaisson hasn’t shown enough to warrant a long-term deal. It leaves a potential opening in 2024 opposite Travon Walker. Enter Will McDonald IV, a pass rusher who could make an instant impact.
McDonald played a lot of 4i for Iowa State due to the 3-3-5 defense, but when he was given more of a runway on the edge, he really shined. His ability to threaten the edge with short area explosiveness opens the door for inside moves, of which he utilizes a phenomenal spin move. His length gives him an advantage at the contact point, where he utilizes a cross chop and hand swipes to keep tackles from gaining leverage.
