Round 5, Pick 159: Juice Scruggs, C, Penn State

The Atlanta Falcons have built a pretty strong unit up front along the offensive line. The missing piece is really at left guard, but there is still intrigue at center. Both Matt Hennessy and Drew Dalman have had their struggles to this point. Juice Scruggs is an experienced center from Penn State who has experience in zone blocking, and could be the reliable player the Falcons are looking for, or at least some strong depth.

Round 7, Pick 224: Mohamoud Diabate, LB, Utah

Speaking of depth, why not add some more in this Falcons mock draft. Linebacker isn’t a position that’s truly figured out just yet, and the pass rush, while getting bolstered here, isn’t a guarantee. It’s two birds with one stone late here in Mohamoud Diabate. Diabate is an extremely athletic player, showing that off at his pro day after not receiving a combine invite. He has reps as a pass rusher and could thrive running and chasing in space.

Round 7, Pick 225: Jon Gaines, OG, UCLA

Will Justin Shaffer grab the left guard spot? Will one of the centers? It’s worth trying to bolster that further for a young quarterback late in the draft. Jon Gaines has impressive functional athleticism and might just be a steal this late in the 2023 NFL Draft.
