Draft
Dec 2, 2022; Las Vegas, NV, USA; Southern California Trojans wide receiver Jordan Addison (3) runs the ball against the Utah Utes during the second half in the PAC-12 Football Championship at Allegiant Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports /

Jordan Addison. player. 123. Scouting Report. WR. 26. Pick Analysis. USC

The Cowboys need a receiving threat outside of CeeDee Lamb. Addison is arguably the best route runner in this mock draft. With a complete route tree, he should immediately take pressure off of Lamb and Dak and help lead the Cowboys to another early playoff exit.

Scouting Report. 27. player. Antonio Johnson. 16. Pick Analysis. DB. Texas A&M

With Jordan Poyer most likely leaving this offseason, the Bills need a new safety. Johnson is a window shutter. His wide tackle radius makes him a first-round talent, much like Lewis Cine last year. Additionally, Johnson could be utilized as a slot corner, making him appealing to Buffalo.

28. player. 56. Pick Analysis. CB. Scouting Report. South Carolina. Cam Smith

Smith is the most instinctive corner in this draft class. He was targeted 70 times this past season, breaking up 15 of them and intercepting four others. Smith could develop into the lockdown corner the Bengals need next to Cam Taylor-Britt. Besides, Eli Apple’s antics need to go.

29. 15. Scouting Report. Notre Dame. Nolan Smith. player. Pick Analysis. EDGE

Back-to-back Smiths! While Nolan Smith is undersized at 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, he is elite against the run. Earning a 90.6 grade on PFF in 2021. He is a high-end athlete that should play well opposite Marcus Davenport (if he stays). If Smith can improve the power elements of his game, he will be a force to be reckoned with for a long time.

Alabama. Eli Ricks. 30. player. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB

Howie Roseman loves taking Crimson Tide prospects. Despite missing most of this past year after transferring from LSU, Ricks still shined. When Ricks was on the field, he looked elite. He only allowed six catches on 19 targets with five PBUs. Darius Slay and James Bradberry are only getting older and are great mentors for Ricks.

124. Pick Analysis. Army. 31. player. Andre Carter II. Scouting Report. EDGE

The Super Bowl champions get the most unique player in this mock draft. Not only for his play on the field but the fact that he almost wasn’t eligible to be drafted in the first place due to his mandatory military service. Carter ll would be a dynamic pass rusher for the Chiefs and could be the best edge rusher in this draft.

So there it is! My first and probably best NFL mock draft. Come April 27th; this is precisely how the first round will end. If you disagree, find me on Twitter and prepare to feel my wrath!
