NFL Mock Draft: Bears Make Bold Move, Packers Finally Land First-Round WR
The Chicago Bears get bold in our latest NFL Mock Draft. Justin Fields finds a new home and the Seahawks trade up for a signal-caller in the middle of round one.
I want to start this mock draft off with a disclaimer. When I make these picks, they are never ordinarily right. Don’t feel bad for me, though, because no one will ever be 100% correct. We may sometimes get a few picks right, but as you probably know, the NFL Draft is unpredictable madness. So, I try to have the most fun with it.

When I approach these, I put myself in the shoes of each general manager. I look at depth charts, stats, film, and more to develop the best and most exciting picks possible. Let’s start this with a BANG, shall we?
The No. 1 pick allows GM Ryan Poles and HC Matt Eberflus to get the most complete QB in the 2023 NFL Draft; one who has the potential to turn around the Bears organization completely. While Justin Fields has been an elite scrambler, his passing has left something to be desired. The Bears could go safe here, and take an elite defensive lineman, but safe doesn’t win you the Super Bowl.
The Texans have a building block at head coach with DeMeco Ryans; now they get a QB of the future they can build around. Stroud proved he deserves to be the second QB taken with that heartbreaking loss against Georgia. His accuracy and decision-making should allow him to thrive at the next level.
This is a pick I could easily see being traded, especially after two QBs go off the board with the first two picks. However, Arizona desperately needs explosiveness and physicality on defense with JJ Watt retiring this offseason. Will Anderson Jr. should add Haason Reddick’s touch to the new Jonathan Gannon defense.
