New York Jets

Everyone knows how important it is for the Jets to sure up the quarterback position, as the team quickly built one of the best young cores in all of football. This core includes both the offensive and defensive rookie of the years from last season. With a number of high quality players who are still on their rookie deals, the Jets have the allure and money to sign a big-time free agent like Carr.

This team might be trying to go even bigger with a potential Aaron Rodgers trade, foreshadowed by the hiring of Nathaniel Hackett as the new offensive coordinator. Nonetheless, Carr would be an excellent choice to improve a team that seems to have everything else in place to compete in a loaded AFC East in 2023. With the No. 13 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, it may be best to sign Carr and use that pick to add another high-quality rookie starter.

Washington Commanders

Another team who appears to be just a quarterback away, the Washington Commanders nearly made the playoffs last year with Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke at quarterback. The Commanders currently possess the No. 16 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, so it might be difficult for them to select a rookie quarterback without mortgaging their future, but signing a veteran like Carr would be a great avenue to pursue.

With an impressive stable of receivers, including the perpetually underrated Terry McLaurin, Carr could provide the experience and stability that Washington has been looking for ever since Kirk Cousins left in free agency. With Carr, there is no reason that the Commanders wouldn’t be able to compete in an NFC East that saw all three other teams make it to the divisional round just a season ago.
