Tennessee Titans 7-Round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Trenches Fix
Round 2, 41st Overall: Keeanu Benton, DL, Wisconsin
If there’s anything that Tennessee flourishes in, it’s getting after quarterbacks and succeeding against early down runs. Autry is great, Simmons is near-elite, and Teair Tart played impressive ball this year too. Still, Autry might be the odd man out with a Simmons extension.
That’s where Keeanu Benton comes in. An explosive talent with disruption skills, Benton was great at attacking gaps from the three-technique spot. His club move is dynamite, and his ability to counter and win with the bull rush is impressive. He can get off blocks against the run, plays with a hot motor, and has impressive tackle range.
Round 3, 72nd Overall: Sam LaPorta, TE, Iowa
The tight end run might start early in the 2023 NFL Draft, but there will still be talent available in the middle rounds. Sam LaPorta is one of those guys flying under the radar a bit, and he’d be a nice fit as another pass catcher in Tennessee.
Chigo Okonkwo was a great move player at tight end with gobs of explosiveness and open field prowess. LaPorta can do a lot of work inline as a blocker, but he also moves well as a receiver, making good plays at the catch point and surviving contact over the middle. LaPorta can be a threat up the seam and give Ryan Tannehill another target in a youthful group of pass catchers.
