Round 4, 130th Overall: Zacch Pickens, DL, South Carolina

The time to add trenches for the Buffalo Bills in this mock draft is always. Here, we add to the front seven with something they lacked late in the season: interior pass rush. We’ve waited for Zacch Pickens to declare for a year after returning to South Carolina for 2022, and the Bills are excited he’s available.

Pickens generates a ton of pressure from the interior with an explosive first step, and can generate plenty of power with the initial momentum. He’ll rush aggressively but under control to catch quarterback trying to escape the pocket.

Round 5, 139th Overall: Roschon Johnson, RB, Texas

The Bills did trade for Nyheim Hines during the season, and drafted James Cook in the second round of the 2022 draft. They’ve got their explosive satellite backs who can spell the lead guy and contribute as pass-catchers. Now, they get the hammer in Roschon Johnson, who will require multiple defenders to bring him down. Johnson is a springy runner who runs behind his pads, and will be extremely effective in pass protection as well.

Round 6, 205th Overall: Mark Evans II, OT, Arkansas Pine-Bluff

With the final pick in this Bills mock draft, the trenches are back once again. Tackle isn’t necessarily a locked down position in the short term, and an athletic project like Mark Evans II is well worth it in the sixth round. Evans gets into his pass sets well, and has good foot speed and hand placement to latch on and stymie opponents in pass protection.
