3-Round 2023 Mock Draft: Shocking Trades, Multiple QBs Go Early, and Ravens Select Bijan Robinson
Following an incredibly disappointing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first week of the NFL Playoffs, the future is very unclear for the Los Angeles Chargers. To me, one thing is abundantly clear… upgrading the offensive line should be a priority.
Rashawn Slater has been amazing at left tackle, and the team spent a first-rounder on the offensive line a year ago with guard Zion Johnson. Right tackle still seems to be a glaring need. Dawand Jones from Ohio State did not allow a sack all season.
What a home run pick for the New York Giants. They haven’t gotten the production that they had hoped from some of their recent receivers, such as Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay and even impending free agents Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton.
Moving forward, the team needs a legit No. 1 wide receiver to pair with the shifty slot receiver, Wan’Dale Robinson. Smith-Njigba did not play much this past season, but the tape will show that he can really be “that guy” for a team like the Giants moving forward.
The Baltimore Ravens could opt to address a variety of weak spots on the roster, maybe even quarterback if Lamar Jackson ends up getting traded. In this 2023 NFL Mock Draft, the team goes with the best player on the board, Texas running back Bijan Robinson.
While most teams don’t value running backs as much as they used to, Robinson is something special, and could end up going much earlier in the 2023 NFL Draft. He can play all three downs and has the blend of speed and power that you look for in a highly-drafted running back. I have to think the Ravens front office and coaching staff is tired of the revolving door and inconsistency in the backfield that they have been dealing with, so grabbing Robinson here would hopefully give them a reliable workhorse moving forward.
This may not seem like a “sexy” pick for the impressive Jacksonville Jaguars, but growth and development of their offense will be extremely important. O’Cyrus Torrence is a very dominant offensive lineman who will be a force in the run game.
The Jags have a lot of opportunity to upgrade their roster this offseason, but I think at this point they can afford to go with the best player available, and I really love Torrence’s dominant tape. I believe that he will have a smooth and immediate transition towards being dominant at the next level as well.
