Round 4, Pick 107: Sean Tucker, RB, Syracuse

The James Conner experiment is not working for the Cardinals. If fantasy football was the only thing that mattered, Conner would have an argument to be a starter. Alas, the real-life numbers and the eye test paint a different picture.

The former Pittsburgh Steeler came over to Arizona before the 2021 season, and while his 15 touchdowns that year were helpful, Conner averaged an abysmal 3.7 yards per carry. He has bumped it up to 4.1 yards per carry in 2022, but the writing is on the wall that his days are dwindling as the lead back.

James Conner will likely remain with the Cardinals in 2023, as it would be pricy to cut him due to a recent extension. But following the 2024 season, he will almost definitely be cut or traded. This gives the franchise a chance to add a potential franchise bell-cow running back that can ease in as a rookie, similar to what the Broncos did with Javonte Williams in 2021.

Enter Syracuse feature back, Sean Tucker. Tucker is among the most explosive players in the 2023 NFL Draft, regardless of position. He has the ability to take any play to the house, whether it is as a runner between the tackles or a pass catcher out in space. That sounds like a lethal combination with Kyler Murray out of the backfield, right?

Sean Tucker is poised to be a fantasy football league winner in 2023. If the game-changing running back lands in the desert with Kyler Murray, like this mock draft predicts, NFC defensive coordinators will lose sleep game planning against the pair.
