Round 4, 102nd Overall: Bralen Trice, EDGE, Washington

As solid as Jonathan Greenard has been in his short time with the Houston Texans, he is a free agent after the 2023 season. The Texans will have to decide if they want to extend him, but even then, having too many pass rushers isn’t a problem. Bralen Trice is another under-appreciated pass rusher in a loaded class. Trice has the power and rush moves to trim the edge and create a shorter lane to the quarterback.

Round 5, 137th Overall: Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona

Yes, at the moment, tackle isn’t a big concern for Houston. But, that doesn’t mean building up the depth at an extremely important position should be ignored. Having quality depth at tackle can prevent injuries from sinking seasons. Jordan Morgan has the prototypical size at tackle. He uses his length well to keep rushers at bay, has impressive latch and displacement ability in the run game, and is a very good lateral athlete to boot.

Round 6, 180th Overall: Anthony Johnson, CB, Virginia

After paying attention to the front seven early in this Texans mock draft, now we look to the secondary. Derek Stingley is having some growing pains, but he’s flashed the ability that made him a top five selection. Anthony Johnson is a bigger corner at 6’2” and 200 pounds that can challenge receivers off the snap and at the catch point.
