2023 NFL Mock Draft: C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young Number One?
By Evan Bachman
10. Pittsburgh Steelers: Paris Johnson Jr., OT, Ohio State
The Steelers offensive line needs to improve both for Kenny Pickett to develop and for the offense to improve. Paris Johnson Jr. could start at left tackle from day one for the Steelers and provide the offensive line with a boost, so that’s the direction they go in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft.
Johnson Jr. is a former highly sought after five star recruit. It’s easy to see why as his combination of size and athleticism are high level NFL left tackle caliber.
With an impressive amount of talent on the offensive line at Ohio State last season he played right guard. This season he’s moved out to left tackle and he projects nicely to play tackle on either side in the NFL with his skillset.
He has been lights out in this role for the Buckeyes as he’s allowed just eight pressures in ten games. This play has solidified his status as a top 15 player in this draft.
11. Detroit Lions: Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia
As addressed earlier the Lions defense is ranked dead last in both yards and points allowed, so defense is a big priority for them in the offseason. Adding Kelee Ringo opposite Jeff Okudah would give the Lions are very exciting cornerback duo.
Kelee Ringo is a former very highly sought after recruit as he was the number four overall player and top ranked corner in the 2020 class.
He was a part of one of the best defenses in college football history last season as he sealed the national title for the Bulldogs with a pick six late in the game to put the game away. Ringo has good physical tools with rare size at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds to go along with plus movement skills.
He has good instincts in coverage as he consistently finds himself in a good position to defend passes. He excels at keeping everything in front of him as you’ll rarely ever see him get beat over the top.
