17. Cincinnati Bengals: Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois

There’s been a lot of ups and downs for the reigning AFC Champions, and while some of that falls on the offense going hot and cold, they just don’t have the horses in the secondary to hang with the top offenses in the conference. Devon Witherspoon is a good man coverage corner who can help out immediately as a rookie.

18. New England Patriots: Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas

The Patriots are staying alive in the wild card race at the moment, and a lot of credit has to go to the defense. Still, Bill Belichick doesn’t waver in adding another gem to the defense in Drew Sanders here. He gets after it flowing downhill versus the run and can even rush the passer. A true SAM for Belichick in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

It’s best player available for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft. If Tom Brady retires or walks as a free agent, quarterback becomes a need. If they believe in Kyle Trask, though, giving him a top running back would ease the transition. Bijan Robinson is well worth a first-round selection, as his only true weakness is long speed.

20. Denver Broncos: Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State

Trading away Bradley Chubb opened up a hole along the defensive line for the Denver Broncos. In a deep edge class, they’ll get a talented player anywhere in the first round. Jared Verse is the latest transfer to Florida State that’s made an impressive impact. His skills as a pass rusher should vault him into first-round discussion.

21. Los Angeles Chargers: Jordan Addison, WR, USC

With so many tackles gone, and a few corners off the board, why not help Justin Herbert out more in the passing game. One way is to add speed to the wide receiver room. Jordan Addison won’t be the true “deep threat only” player, but he can win vertically and separate at all levels of the field.

22. Tennessee Titans: B.J. Ojulari, EDGE, LSU

The Tennessee Titans have two edge rushers getting top dollar right now, but injuries have made their availability an issue. To keep the defense rolling under Mike Vrabel, the Titans add B.J. Ojulari in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft, whose bend and array of moves would be a welcome addition.

23. Seattle Seahawks: Trenton Simpson, LB, Clemson

The Seahawks go right back to the defensive side of the ball here, and get a running mate for Jordyn Brooks at linebacker. Trenton Simpson is more of a hybrid linebacker, but his power and ability to get off blocks is impressive for his size. He can operate well in space and bring a boost to that second level.

24. Miami Dolphins: **Forfeited**
