2023 NFL Mock Draft: Lions Land C.J. Stroud, Steelers Go Tackle
17. Washington Commanders: Felix Anudike-Uzomah, EDGE, Kansas State
It’s hard to figure out the direction the Washington Commanders will go early in the 2023 NFL Draft. Their roster is a solid one, and they’re threatening for a playoff spot even in a loaded NFC East. Quarterback is the one position of serious need, but why force the issue in what feels like a two quarterback class? Instead, they stay proactive in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft, anticipating exits along the defensive line. Felix Anudike-Uzomah is a talented rusher with an impressive toolbox of moves.
18. Cincinnati Bengals: Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia
The Cincinnati Bengals are oft mocked offensive line and tight end, and Michael Mayer would be a fun addition to the offense. Hayden Hurst has been plenty good though. Instead, continuing to boost the secondary in a tough AFC is extremely important. Kelee Ringo has the physical traits to succeed as a boundary corner, but needs to work on catch point timing.
19. Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
If this isn’t an Arthur Smith dream scenario, I don’t know what is. Running the ball is what Smith wants to do, and this 2023 NFL Mock Draft has given Smith one of the best running back prospects in a while. Bijan Robinson has the vision and decisiveness to handle zone running, and his creative footwork and contact balance in space make him difficult to bring down. He also offers impressive refinement and upside as a pass-catcher. A 2024 quarterback might get to play with Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts.
20. Miami Dolphins (via SF): Trenton Simpson, LB, Clemson
The Miami Dolphins weren’t on their game on defense Sunday, and while two levels of the defense have been impressive, that second level needs more horses. Trenton Simpson is a hybrid linebacker who can thrive in space, but he packs an impressive punch when taking on blocks.
