Round 2, 46th Overall: Matthew Bergeron, OT, Syracuse

Other than Rodgers, the offensive line is where the aforementioned big decisions will happen in the offseason. Elgton Jenkins is currently a free agent, as is Yosh Nijman. David Bakhtiari could be nearing his end as well. Even if Nijman comes back and Zach Tom shows promise, tackle still needs to be a priority.

Matthew Bergeron should be getting way more attention in the 2023 NFL Draft. In his past three seasons, Bergeron has eight starts at right tackle and 20 starts at left tackle. He’s been on the left side in 2022, and he’s been dynamite there. He’s allowed just five pressures in 2022, and has the impressive footwork to mirror rushers in pass protection. His ability to set vertically to prevent rushers from getting the corner, and fights hard to anchor against power and length. His functional athleticism to space block and get to the second level has improved as well.

Round 3, 77th Overall: Chris Smith II, S, Georgia

There’s a chance Adrian Amos doesn’t return in 2023. Darnell Savage got his fifth-year option picked up, but that doesn’t guarantee anything beyond 2023. The Green Bay Packers are usually proactive at addressing needs, and this is the time for it.

Chris Smith would be another Georgia Bulldog added to this defense. Smith has the speed to cover ground on the roof of the defense, and to trigger downhill in a hurry. He’s a sound tackler who can operate in the box, and he hits with authority at the catch point.
