2023 NFL Mock Draft: Panthers, Lions Find New Signal-Callers
9. Philadelphia Eagles (via NO): Felix Anudike-Uzomah, EDGE, Kansas State
It’s been a fun ride so far for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022. The defense is coming together with better linebacker play, and they’ve got the offense winning in a variety of ways. It’s hard to imagine the Eagles going any other direction out of principle, not to mention edge rusher could be thinned a little in 2023. Felix Anudike-Uzomah has the tools to create pressure at the contact point, and has reps of flawlessly stringing together moves on tape.
10. Seattle Seahawks: Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson
The Seahawks have back to back selections in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft, and with how well Geno Smith is playing, maybe offering up an extension and waiting on quarterback is in the cards. Time will tell. Here though, why not build up a defense that has struggled to stop opposing offenses. Myles Murphy has the size, length, explosiveness, and power to follow in the steps of Michael Bennett and, more recently, Carlos Dunlap on this defensive line.
11. Seattle Seahawks (via DEN): Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
Tariq Woolen has played extremely well relative to his fifth round billing, as his size and speed has led to some interceptions and great reps in coverage against tough competition. Still, a running mate for Woolen would suit the secondary, and Christian Gonzalez has rebounded well from the Georgia game. His technique is more refined, and would give the Seahawks a different type of corner, but just as effective.
12. Cincinnati Bengals: Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State
The Cincinnati Bengals are just disjointed right now. It’s hard to have an offense that doesn’t have the passing and running games intersect. It would be easy to say throw more picks at offensive line in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft, but corner is a bit thinner. Joey Porter brings the confidence and catch point disruption to be an early playmaker in the league.
