Green Bay Packers: Devonte Wyatt, DL, Georgia

It was a difficult task to figure out the best selection for the Green Bay Packers in the 2022 NFL Draft. It’s not because every pick was a great one (both the Quay Walker and Christian Watson picks felt like reaches to this writer), but they did do very well in rounds three through seven, picking up value left and right along the offensive line. Sean Rhyan could play tackle or guard, and Zach Tom might have the versatility to play everywhere.

Let’s not forget about Kingsley Enagbare, who has been very successful in his SEC career creating pressure in a variety of ways. Still though, their best pick was also a first-round selection, getting Georgia defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt.

The Packers have long looked for the perfect running mate for Kenny Clark on the interior of the defensive line, and Wyatt can be it. Wyatt’s first step, agility, explosiveness, and power make for a dangerous rusher on the interior. He can cross linemen’s faces with ease and is great at slanting and attacking gaps. He’s no slouch against the run either. Creating interior pressure is important in today’s NFL, and Wyatt could make an instant impact doing that.
