The Philadelphia Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman, made a huge splash during the NFL Draft as per usual. Not only were they able to stay true to philosophy and bolster top selections in the trenches, they were also able to address glaring team needs and add versatility on both sides of the ball.

Overall Grade: B+

Best Selection: Nakobe Dean

A casual NFL fan would probably note that the Philadelphia Eagles best draft picks were the two (18 and 101) used to trade for superstar wideout AJ Brown. But the Eagles getting Nakobe Dean in the third round may be the steal of the draft.

Dean won the Bednarik award for the nation’s top linebacker while also anchoring the nation’s top defense and national champions. His draft stock continued to fall, as rumors questioned the Georgia Linebacker’s overall health and need for potential surgery. Nakobe Dean fulfills one of the Eagles’ biggest needs coming into the draft. If he can bring just 80 percent of the production that he brought while in college, most NFL offenses will be on notice for the foreseeable future.
