The New York Giants had made a lot of off-season moves that had many thinking them a dark horse to take the NFC East. That didn’t really materialize as they finished last in the division with only 4 wins. With all of that talent, something had to give.

That “give” would eventually be a front office change. New General Manager, Joe Schoen, and new Head Coach, Brian Daboll, looked to go into this NFL Draft on a mission. Their plan was to address all of the major needs and then some. On paper, this could have arguably been the best draft the Giants have had since the Eli Manning trade in 2004.

Overall Grade: A-

Best Selection: Evan Neal

It’s a good problem to have when you can get two picks within the top 10, but also select two players projected to go No. 1 at some point during the draft process. This was a toss-up, as many believed Kayvon Thibodeaux would have been picked earlier. But Evan Neal has to be the best selection of the 2022 NFL Draft.

At 6’7″ 337 lbs, Neal is more reminiscent of the Incredible Hulk than a 21 year old football star. The Consensus All-American not only played in the toughest division in college football, but he dominated. His combination of length and size, coupled with his power and foot speed make him the optimal offensive lineman. He showed versatility in college playing both tackle spots and left guard. Ultimately, Neal was more of a “sure thing” than Thibodeaux and will most likely be a day one starter.
