Which 2022 NFL Draft quarterback landed in the best situation? Which one landed in the toughest? That and more from a wild weekend at the quarterback position.

The 2022 NFL Draft lived up to its’ billing as the most unpredictable in recent memory. It is not surprising where the quarterbacks landed, but it was stunning when some of these guys came off the board.

The Falcons, Titans, Steelers, Panthers, and even the Commanders were mocked quarterbacks throughout the process, and they all ended up with one. Malik Willis, Desmond Ridder, Kenny Pickett, Matt Corral, and Sam Howell were the consensus top-five quarterbacks in this class, and it proved to be true when they were the first five taken.

2022 NFL Draft: Ranking the QBs in their landing spots

Seeing every quarterback listed (aside from Kenny Pickett) fall into the third round was surprising to say the least, as Willis and Ridder both were thought to be in the discussion as late-first round prospects. Matt Corral pulled his best Tom Petty impersonation by free-falling down the board. Sam Howell, the top quarterback on some boards, fell even farther, lasting all the way to the middle of day three before hearing his name called. Carson Strong, a favorite for some, didn’t even end up getting drafted, likely meaning his knee was worse than many thought. He landed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent.

In this article, I highlight each of these five quarterbacks and teams. I attempt to rank each prospect-team pairing by projecting what they bring to the organization, and try to shine a light on each teams’ reasoning for taking a quarterback. Without further ado, let’s get this thing started.
