The Seattle Seahawks must turn their attention to finding the next breakout quarterback that can lead them to success in years to come.

The Seattle Seahawks have had one of the more memorable off-seasons in a long time, considering the high-profile departures of their veteran all-star players.

From quarterback Russell Wilson being traded to the Denver Broncos to linebacker Bobby Wagner joining the Los Angeles Rams, there’s no denying the Seahawks are in a massive rebuilding phase heading towards next season.

It’s worth noting that the Seahawks did receive multiple first and second-round draft picks alongside former Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock, as expected to start with the Seahawks next season.

Though many are under the impression that Drew Lock isn’t on par with Russell Wilson regarding ability, it’s worth noting that the Seahawks have expressed optimism about having him on their depth chart.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has recently expressed his excitement over Drew Lock playing for Seattle, according to Pro-Football Talk, stating his readiness to play and his ability to fit in with the Seahawks team. Drew Lock’s also well-known for his past accolades playing for Missouri in college. As a former First-team All-SEC, his abilities could help him find his groove in leading Seattle’s offense to succeed next season.

Whether or not Drew Lock finds success in Seattle, the Seahawks must turn their attention to replacing Russell Wilson with a quarterback who can fill his shoes regarding ability.

Considering that the NFL has arguably become more of passing-oriented gameplay over the years, every team must keep up with how much the NFL has evolved regarding the reliance on quarterbacks.

Russell Wilson as the starting quarterback for the Seahawks has contributed a lot to Seattle’s success since 2012, including a first-ever Super Bowl for the franchise. It may take a long time, or even a couple of seasons, for Seattle to find such a replacement for Russell Wilson’s ability.

Drew Lock could, however, surprise many people if he successfully leads Seattle’s offense to success this upcoming season.

If he doesn’t, the Seahawks are in a position where they can recruit potential young breakout players that can successfully rebuild the entire team because of this year’s draft.

Because of how good their draft entries are, it’s beneficial for the organization to look at potential quarterbacks that could be a great alternative to Drew Lock if needed. The only question can Seattle successfully utilize this year’s draft with what they received.
