New England Patriots 7-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 4, Pick 127

Scouting Report. EDGE. 2243. Pick Analysis. Miami (OH). Dominique Robinson. 127. player

Will Dominque Robinson be available for the New England Patriots here? It’s hard to tell. This is a deep edge rusher class, so it’s definitely possible. If not, there should be someone with comparable talent on the board for New England to take. If it is Robinson, Belichick and company are going to love this pick.

Robinson’s draft stock continues to rise and it’s easy to see why. He was impressive at the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine. Plus, his game will translate well to the NFL level. He’s still a bit raw as an edge rusher, making the position change from wide receiver, but he has the frame and foundation to be consistent against NFL offensive linemen.

Taking Robinson in a room that already has Matthew Judon, Josh Uche and others will give Robinson the chance to learn and grow. Great situation for both sides of this pick.

player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 158. DB. Missouri. Akayleb Evans. 822

When talking about players with room to grow, Akayleb Evans is the prototypical player for that list. At 6-foot-2 he has the size to produce, but lacks the tape and stats to truly support it. Luckily for Bill Belichick, hitting the marks for height, weight and speed, which Evans does, is enough to provide the foundation for a great player down the road.

The Patriots have made additions to their cornerback room this offseason in free agency, but they still lack youth at the position. There wouldn’t be pressure on Evans to play right away, giving him time to learn.

He had just one interception over five collegiate seasons and his tackle total never reached 30. However, it’s hard to overlook the potential with his size and speed. He’s a bit of a project, but one that Belichick could groom very well.
