This is a deep wide receiver class, which should be good news for the Patriots. Originally, it seemed like New England could be in the running for Jameson Williams in the first round, but the addition of DeVante Parker lessened the need. However, it didn’t completely remove it.

With this class, taking a second round wide receiver is a good bet. Odds are there will still be plenty of talent on the board here. While it isn’t as big of a need as it once was for New England, they could still benefit from an addition.

John Metchie III already has chemistry with Mac Jones from Alabama. He’s had some injury concerns, but when healthy he’s a top talent. Over 2,000 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns across the last two seasons is impressive and a stat line that will draw the Patriots’ attention late in the second.

Offensive line is a position that should consistently be on New England’s radar. Whether it be a player like Zion Johnson in the first or Sean Rhyan in the second, the Patriots or going to be mindful of the offensive line market at all times. Here, they are able to delay it until the third and still nab a productive player.

A four-year starter, Abraham Lucas is being projected as a tackle. However, moving him to guard could allow for a quick fix to some of his issues that are causing his value to drop. He’s better in the passing game, but will need to work on both the run game and false starts in general. As a third round pick, there’s a lot of potential here with the right coaching.
