Round 6, 197th Overall: Kennedy Brooks, RB, Oklahoma

Yes, James Robinson is a stud. But, he’s a free agent after the season, and tore his achilles late in December of 2021, which means a long road of recovery ahead. The Jacksonville Jaguars have the speed of Travis Etienne returning, but getting an early-down bruiser in Kennedy Brooks to handle the load and work with a committee is a smart call, especially in a deeper running back class with role players to be had this late.

Round 6, 198th Overall: Reed Blankenship, S, Middle Tennessee

There are big expectations for Andre Cisco to step up and play a lot more in 2022, but the safety room could use a little depth. Enter Reed Blankenship, who’s long been talked about in draft circles. His reliability as a tackler and alignment versatility make for a good addition to the room. Not to mention, he can be a special teams stud.

Round 6, 222nd Overall: Kevin Austin Jr., WR, Notre Dame

As much as Pickens and Christian Kirk are nice, swinging more at receiver makes sense to help out Lawrence. Kevin Austin Jr. had impressive testing numbers, and is a threat to win vertically. He’s also got strong hands and can be a chain-moving possession guy when needed.

Round 7, 235th Overall: Tre Turner, WR, Virginia Tech

A smooth, fluid route runner closes out this Jaguars mock draft. Tre Turner is a bit undersized, but he can work defensive backs in the slot all day to create separation and be a chain-mover as well as Austin.
