Seattle Seahawks 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 5, Pick 152

Louisiana. 36. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OL. Max Mitchell. 152. player

At this point in the 2022 NFL Draft, teams are going to be looking for players with high upside and the potential to start down the road or in the immediate future if the team is in a bind. As I said earlier, the Seahawks are in need of tackles on both sides of the line. While a fifth round pick most likely won’t be ready to start on the offensive line, an addition here can add competition to the position as well as depth.

At 6-foot-6, Max Mitchell has the frame to grow into a starting tackle at the NFL level. He’s also been applauded for toughness and leadership in college which are attributes that will gain the attention of scouts and executives during the draft process.

Mitchell has experience at both tackle positions, so if Charles Cross is locked in at left tackle, Mitchell can focus on taking over the right side in time for the Seahawks. He has the intangibles and fundamentals to succeed at the NFL level with the right coaching and could blossom in Seattle with the opportunities available.

For Seattle, adding a player like Mitchell this late in the draft would be huge. With a year of learning, Mitchell could be ready to go as a sturdy right tackle at the start of the 2023 season when a rookie quarterback is brought in.
