Seattle Seahawks 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 41

814. Pick Analysis. LB. Georgia. Quay Walker. 41. player. Scouting Report

Linebacker isn’t the biggest need for the Seattle Seahawks, but it’s hard to overlook a player like Quay Walker. Best player available isn’t always the correct route to go, but in this case the Seahawks go that way and add Walker to fill the void left behind by Bobby Wagner in the middle of the defense.

Walker is really just scratching the surface of his potential. At Georgia he was a member of a strong defense and was paired with fellow 2022 NFL Draft prospect Nakobe Dean. Despite that, he filled the stat sheet, doing a bit of everything.

In 2021, Walker posted 65 tackles along with 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He added three passes defended to his stat sheet and a fumble recovered.

Despite the lack of tape compared to other prospects, Walker is still drawing a lot of interest in the draft. He’s been credited as run stuffer that can identify where a running back is going quickly and make the right move to stop it.

There’s some inconsistencies in Walker’s game, but those can be worked out with time. Adding Walker and Ojabo with these back-to-back picks in the second round are two big additions to Seattle’s defense and puts pieces in place for a long time with high potential.
