The Denver Broncos got their big moves out of the way early, bringing in quarterback Russell Wilson and pass rusher Randy Gregory. Now, their attention turns to the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Denver Broncos offseason is going down as a success, regardless of what they do in the 2022 NFL Draft. Bringing in a superstar quarterback to lead the way is something that any team would jump on if given the opportunity. The reason this worked out so well is because Denver is where Russell Wilson and his family always wanted to be in the event they left Seattle. The rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers and the Broncos went on for a couple years, but once general manager George Paton knew that Rodgers was re-committing to the Green Bay Packers this offseason, he turned his sights to Wilson. The rest is, as they say, history.

Paton remained busy, bringing in one of the top pass rushers available on the market, Randy Gregory. He also brought over former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle DJ Jones to man the middle of the defense for new defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. Veteran safety Kareem Jackson was retained on a one-year pact, keeping together the tandem of Jackson and Simmons. Although there are some whispers that the team is looking to ease Caden Sterns into the role, learning under Jackson could go a long way for the trajectory of Sterns’ career. K’Waun Williams joined DJ Jones in coming over from the 49ers, adding a quality option at nickel cornerback.

New head coach Nathanial Hackett surely played a role in the signing of former Packers offensive lineman, Billy Turner. Turner played for the Broncos from 2016-2018 as well. He brings positional versatility with him, offering the team an option on the interior but figures to enter a competition for the starting spot at right tackle. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the team draft a guy to add to that competition, with the middle of the draft looking solid in terms of potential right tackles.

Even after a busy offseason, the Denver Broncos still have three picks within the first three rounds of the draft. They also have five picks on the final day of the draft, including back-to-back picks in the top part of round four. Let’s see what we can cook up in the final mock draft for the Denver Broncos this offseason!
