Few moves in league history match the Russell Wilson blockbuster that sent the star quarterback to the Denver Broncos. Now, the team must make the most of it by acquiring talent with their remaining draft picks.

The Denver Broncos made arguably the biggest move of the offseason by acquiring future Hall-of-Famer, Russell Wilson. After being selected by the franchise in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, Wilson went on to bring the Seahawks their only Super Bowl ring in just his second season in the league. Ironically enough, that win came against Wilson’s new team — the Denver Broncos. I won’t go any further in detail about that game, out of respect to the Broncos faithful!

The Broncos traded a decent amount for Wilson, including their first- and second-round picks in this years’ draft. They also sent some picks in 2023 and a few players to Seattle including: quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, and defensive lineman Shelby Harris. This is obviously a trade that you do 100 out of 100 times for quarterback the caliber of Wilson, but Harris was viewed as a locker room leader so I don’t want to belittle him by calling him a “throwaway piece”.

Denver Broncos: 10 Late-Round 2022 NFL Draft Targets

Still, even after the Russell Wilson trade, general manager George Paton is armed with a load of picks in the middle and later portion of the draft. This article, I highlight ten late-round targets for the Denver Broncos. I am strictly looking to find some players that will be available on day three of the draft, with the Broncos holding five picks during that final day. It is likely that they will be active in cleaning up any players that fall that far. Let’s see if we can find some of those players before it happens.
