By Hunter Haas
Quarterbacks, pass rushers, and wide receivers account for over 50 percent of the picks in the first round of this 3-Round 2022 NFL Mock Draft. See who lands where in one of the final mock drafts before the 2022 NFL Draft gets underway!
With the 2022 NFL Draft fast approaching, smokescreen season is in full bloom. Agents and teams both are known to manipulate narratives during the course of free agency, especially leading up to the draft. There’s nothing dirty here, it’s all fair in the name of business. The countless rumors that get floated around the later we get into April goes to show just how prevalent of a practice this is around the league.
From the likes of Travon Walker entering the conversation for No. 1 overall pick (more on that later) and Kyle Hamilton, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Derek Stingley all hearing their names as potential “free-fallers” of the draft, it is tough to know what to believe. Additionally, it is anyones best guess as to which quarterback will be the first selected. At one point or another the past few weeks, as many as three different quarterbacks laid claim to the QB1 mantle, proving that headlines are ever-changing and often do not present the entire picture.
The uncertainty of it all is why the draft is so alluring. The offseason has been bonkers, and even the most plugged in sources are not sure what to make of this draft class. A number of positions are undeniably deep, but the order that evaluators rank such prospects is ripe for debate. There are a number of players that find themselves in the running to be the first of their position taken. The way I see it, safety (Kyle Hamilton) and center (Tyler Linderbaum) are the only two groups with a consensus top prospect.
