Scouting Report. Running Back. Iowa State. Breece Hall. player. Pick Analysis. 57. 16

Breece Hall and the Buffalo Bills is a popular pairing, even in the first round of some 2022 NFL Mock Drafts. I don’t believe that any running back would go in round one, but I could definitely see the team taking a stab at one with pick 57.

The Buffalo Bills drafted running backs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss in the third round in back-to-back drafts in 2019 and 2020. However, they don’t seem to be too bought into either of them, with Moss getting benched a couple times last season and the team pursuing Washington scat back, J.D. McKissic, in free agency and adding Duke Johnson Jr. after McKissic decided to go back to D.C.

For a team that spent two day-two picks on running backs in recent drafts, the Buffalo Bills rarely seem to run the ball with their running backs, particularly in the playoffs. Josh Allen led the team in rushing in 2018 and has been the go-to rusher for the Bills ever since. If the team really loves one of the running backs in this class, they may actually decide to utilize them moving forward for a more balanced offensive attack.

Breece Hall is a balanced back who can play every snap for an NFL team. He is a patient runner with great vision, who has great burst through the whole and impressive top-end speed to finish off runs. He has solid contact balance and is tough to bring down. He wasn’t often used as a receiver, but he has shown solid hands and upside out of the backfield. His ability and versatility could make the other backs in the room a bit more expendable and would give the offense an every-down back to rely on.
