New England Patriots 2022 NFL Draft: 5 Targets With No. 21 Pick

New England Patriots 2022 NFL Draft Target #4: Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama
A few weeks ago this pick seemed a bit more likely, but the addition of DeVante Parker to the New England Patriots makes a wide receiver in the first round less likely. However, it doesn’t count it out completely.
Before his injury, Jameson Williams was considered one of the top wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft. That hasn’t changed, but now it comes with a missed season and a rehab plan to get him back on the field. That will turn away some teams, but probably not Bill Belichick.
Williams’ talent is hard to ignore and the drop in draft stock could benefit a team like New England. The Patriots have only a few needs and if they can bolster their wide receiver room even more, then why wouldn’t they take a top tier talent with the known idea that time will be missed?
It’s hard to find a downside with Williams. He’s a strong route runner. He can go up and get jump balls. He’s fast. He seems like the prototypical pick that Belichick would go out and get. Adding him to the offensive weaponry would help the Patriots stay on pace with the AFC East arms race that has been going on this offseason.
