Who could the Houston Texans select with their two first round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft? Trenches headline the list.

The Houston Texans are really ready to start this rebuild. The final domino fell in trading away Deshaun Watson, and the Cleveland Browns gave up three first round picks, a second-rounder in 2023, and a third-rounder in 2024. Those picks will hopefully result in cornerstone pieces and role players as the team makes its rise back to contention.

The 2022 NFL Draft will ultimately be one of foundation, as was the Lions a bit last year. They have picks three and 13 in the first round along with picks 37, 68, and 80 on day two. With the depth the 2022 class provides, it’s an opportunity to land several starters.

Not to mention, there are a few things still in place for the Texans. Laremy Tunsil is still the cornerstone left tackle. Some Texans folks are still excited about Tytus Howard to lock down right tackle. Davis Mills, at the very least, gives them the opportunity to bypass the quarterbacks in this year’s class, as his play was impressive relative to draft capital last year. Nico Collins, Brandin Cooks, and Brevin Jordan are a nice receiving core, and they’ve got Jonathan Greenard as a good starting pass rusher.
