Green Bay Packers: First Round Targets In The 2022 NFL Draft
Wild Cards
The Green Bay Packers sometimes surprise, and while we feel confident in what position they’ll go in the 2022 NFL Draft, don’t rule out some surprises. Here would be a few to watch.
Dax Hill
Daxton Hill, or Dax, as he wants to be called, was a five star recruit for Michigan and has been impressive since his freshman season. Hill can move all around the field, from playing in the slot, to sitting in the box, to playing on the roof. His transitional quickness and range are impressive, and he improved with his ball skills at the catch point in 2021. If Adrian Amos walks after 2022, Hill would fit in as the starter. If Amos doesn’t, we know Joe Barry likes three safeties.
Kyle Hamilton (via trade up)
This is the dream right here. Kyle Hamilton’s poor 40 times are unfairly causing him to drop down boards and mocks. Then there’s positional value, which was already a reason for him to not get picked in the top five. If he starts falling further into the 10s or teens, the Packers could move up for him, as Brian Gutekunst has gotten aggressive before. Hamilton has the rare versatility, great open field tackling skills, and great recognition skills to play anywhere on a defense.
Tyler Linderbaum
He could’ve been included with the offensive line, but it would’ve included a trigger warning. This would likely drive Packers fans insane. However, Tyler Linderbaum is falling, perhaps into the second round. If the Packers aren’t sold with Josh Myers, Linderbaum would be a seamless scheme fit.
