Offensive Line

The Green Bay Packers do have some concerns along the offensive line. It all comes down to where the Packers believe Elgton Jenkins’ long-term position is. If it’s at left guard, then tackle moves up the priority list. If he moves over to tackle, then they feel pretty good there with David Bakhtiari, Jenkins, and Yosh Nijman. Who would be options?

Trevor Penning

Probably the top option for the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Trevor Penning dazzled at the combine with phenomenal athletic testing numbers. His mentality is one that offensive line coaches will love. However, there are things to clean up, from nearly crossing his feet in sets and giving up his chest (and subsequent ground) in pass protection. Still, the upside is immense, and the Packers have a great staff to coach linemen. He’d also be a trend-breaker.

Kenyon Green

This is an intriguing prospect-team selection. Kenyon Green was the number one recruit in Texas, and has been very good since he stepped on the field at Texas A&M. In 2021 alone, Green played left tackle, right tackle, right guard, and left guard. That versatility is right there with Jenkins, and he’d give the Packers a ton of flexibility on their line.

Tyler Smith

Here’s the project selection. Tyler Smith fits the thresholds for the Packers. He’s only 21 years old, and will be throughout his rookie season. He’s a very good athlete as well, and plays with the mean streak Penning does, and displaces defensive linemen when he down blocks. His hand placement needs work, as does his technique in general, but he’s the high upside play.
