Wild Card Moves

Every year, teams surprise us in the draft. The Los Angeles Chargers are no strangers to this, as they moved up 14 spots to select linebacker Kenneth Murray in the 2020 draft. It could happen again at pick 17 this year, so who would be the surprises? We’ve already covered a move up for Stingley, but what else could happen.

Bernhard Raimann

It’s hard for an offensive lineman to be a wild card, but because of the prospect, it’s still a possibility. Raimann is a converted tight end who is still working on technique in pass protection. His feet get wide at times, he waist bends a bit, and counters give him some trouble. The athleticism is there and the upside is evident, but he’s still more project than anything right now.

Devonte Wyatt

The Los Angeles Chargers look pretty set along the defensive line, adding a lot of talent to shore up the run defense. However, they could add a three technique in Devonte Wyatt to generate even more pressure. Bosa and Mack will bring a ton of power off the edge to collapse the pocket, but Wyatt’s quickness off the ball and ability to attack gaps will add pressure from the interior as well. Imagining the Chargers with that unit is insanity.
