21. New England Patriots: Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, Florida State
The hype for Jermaine Johnson II has really picked up recently and he could go higher than this, perhaps in the top ten. In this 2022 NFL mock draft scenario however he falls to the Patriots.
Johnson II has solid tools as a pass rusher as he has good size (6-foot-5, 262 pounds), length, and solid athleticism. Johnson II transferred away from a loaded Georgia defensive front to Florida State where he was very productive recording 12 sacks last season and he was rock solid as a run defender. His performance at the combine was very impressive as he put up a 4.58 40 yard dash, really boosting his draft stock.
22. Green Bay Packers: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
After trading Devonte Adams, the Packers are basically in a position where they have to use at least one of their two first rounders on a receiver. Replacing Devonte Adams is basically impossible, however Treylon Burks is the type of big-bodied receiver that the Packers covet.
Treylon Burks checks a lot of the boxes of a first round receiver. He’s a good route runner as he’s very smart and is good at finding holes in the defense and also changes his pace well when running his routes. He’s also very good in contested catch situations as he’s 6-foot-3 with good hands and body control.
