2022 NFL Mock Draft: Panthers, Steelers, Lions All Take QBs In Round 1

14. Baltimore Ravens: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters are a good duo at corner, however they could use some more depth. Trent McDuffie would be a great addition to the Ravens secondary in this 2022 NFL mock draft scenario.
When evaluating corners going from college to the NFL, it’s important that the player has proven to be consistent in coverage and Trent McDuffie has done just that. In all three of his seasons in his career at Washington, McDuffie has received an 80+ grade on PFF, which is very impressive. He’s also an impressive tackler in space and sticks his nose in to play the run.
One concern for McDuffie is his arm length as he measured in at the combine with 29 ¾ inch arms which is in just the fifth percentile for corners. This isn’t a deal breaker and I don’t think the NFL sees it like that either, however it is something that could push him down some teams draft boards.
I don’t see him lasting very long on draft night however because he has very good coverage skills as he’s got good speed, quickness, and exceptional instincts. He seems to have a knack for simply being in the right place at the right time, which is a great trait for a corner to have and makes me confident he’ll be a good player in the NFL.
