13. Houston Texans: Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
As I said earlier the Texans have needs basically all over the roster, so they’ll just be focused on adding good players to the roster regardless of position. Jordan Davis would be a great building block on defense to start their rebuild with.
Jordan Davis even drew some Heisman hype last season as he was one of the key components to a Georgia defense that was perhaps the best of the last decade. He’s someone whose value goes beyond just what you see in the box score.
He is very powerful and can drive offensive linemen backwards and get them off balance. As a run defender, he is very good at recognizing where the run is going and driving linemen out of the way (or in the way of the run to stop it) to either free himself up to make a tackle himself or free up someone else to.
Davis’ combine performance was remarkable he ran a 4.78 40 yard dash after weighing in at 6-foot-6, 341 pounds. This only solidified his status as a top 20 lock in this draft and in this 2022 NFL mock draft he comes off the board at 13th overall to the Texans.
