9. Seattle Seahawks: Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

Quarterback is definitely on the table for the Seahawks here after the Russell Wilson trade. However, with the weakness of this quarterback class and Malik Willis already being off the board in this scenario, I’m predicting they’ll look at other needs on their roster and look at the next quarterback class for a quarterback.

The Seahawks have had issues with their offensive line for a while now and right now it’s arguably the weakest position group on their roster. Charles Cross could come in and be the starting left tackle from day one.

Most mock drafts, including this one have Cross coming off the board after Ekwonu and Neal, however there’s many who believe he’s in the same tier as a prospect as both of them.

Charles Cross certainly fits the mold to be a left tackle in the NFL as he has plus size, plus strength, and he moves well. He’s always had the physical tools to be a high pick, it was more of a matter of if he could put it all together and this season he has certainly done that.

He was very consistent for Mississippi State this season, as he put up a grade of 86.7, which is even more impressive when you consider how much pass rushing talent is in the SEC.

Against Texas A&M and Alabama this season, which Mississippi State played in back-to-back games, Cross didn’t give up a single pressure in either contest. This is something that really boosts his draft stock because it proves he can dominate against high-level players that are also going to play in the NFL.
